Speedpaint Sunday 65: That Old Stymied Feeling.

So trying to keep the excitement and feeling of accomplishment from last week’s light-and-shadow experiment, I kept working on it. It was at the end of a very long day, which might have hurt my enthusiasm a bit, but at the same time, I (again) hit the roadblock of not being sure what to do next. There’s not really much else to say about that; I tried some different things with highlights and stuff, but I ultimately began to feel like I was hopping in a circle after a point.

I couldn’t escape the rule of my linework, mostly because I didn’t know how, and soft shadows are still just out of my grasp, in part because after all this time, I’m still struggling to figure out how my tablet acts (though in my defense, I have the nagging feeling that it changes on its own to an extent- this is part of my reason for wanting a newer one) and in part because, like I’ve mentioned previously, I don’t really know what I’m doing.
