Dragon-A-Day Online: Day 868: Treed.

I went out today to play Commander with some friends, and I jiggled the dragon-to-everything else ratio in my Dragon Deck to try and make it competitive again. It seems to have worked, despite not having all the cards I wanted to run.

I played it twice. In the first game, I was “the threat” for a longish time, right until my Utvara Hellkite was hit with a Lignify, putting an end to the not-quite nuclear option I had ready to go (I also had a Scourge of Valkas on the table and about 6 dragons total).

 11032013 - Treed.

The second game I got stomped on by everyone, particularly Omnath, Locus of Mana, because of a (relatively) slow start, and everyone destroying my noncreature permanents while Animar, Soul of Elements steadily grew more and more powerful.

And for the very curious, this is the current version of the deck (The Unknown Shores is actually an Opal Palace; at the time of this writing, it doesn’t seem that they’ve updated with the new Commander cards yet.)
