So after mulling over last week’s exercise somewhat, I wasn’t quite sure where to begin. So I started throwing around blots of color without a real understanding of how to make them into a cohesive form, as usual:
While working on this, I wondered about my usual cel-shading-inspired coloring style, and why I have less trouble working that way than I do with trying to render things. So I added a bunch of lines, for the complete experience:
Then, changed my brush to Multiply, slapped on a 40% grey and went to work:
My final analysis is that it’s interesting. Obviously, with the differences in the shadows (as opposed to a consistent multiplied grey, it’s not exactly like what I normally do, but thinking of it like that might be good for a start.
