Dragon-A-Day Online: Day 1,276: Flying Brick.

I found myself with a spare moment and kicked this out, thinking of the big guy from a few days ago:

I wanted to fool around with the muscles of the wings- but the laws of aerodynamics (among other things) got in the way- the wings kept needing to be more muscular to fit with the rest of him and they also needed to be a lot longer, especially since there’s no connecting sail (so a lot of “flappable” surface area is lost- only the elbow joint and “hands” would have sails).

I won’t even get into the keel and wing shoulders, but that’s what I get for drawing the improbable.

  1. Gen says:

Perhaps his people were skinny long ago and had flight – only to evolve into muscled hunks with vestigal wings. Ages later said wings are only functional again because of antigrav equipment available to specialized warriors in this society. Or something. /handwaving
