Dragon-A-Day Online: Day 40

It was hot today. Not Scary-Keep-Your-Old-People-And-Children-In-The-Library-Until-Dark-Hot, but it was probably too hot to be walking 5 miles.

Why was I schlepping around all of creation, you ask? I was looking for a new chair. My current chair is not never was user-friendly, and I need a new one. I found one at Office Furniture Heaven, but I am a little cooked because of the process involved.

So, unable to come up with something topical, I leave you with this:

I’m not sure how “dragony” this one is, it’s a little more like a dinosaur than I first intended. But I do like it, maybe changing the foreclaws a bit or refining the shape of the head (maybe pulling it out of the torso a bit, or at least maknig the break between head and shoulders/trunk more obvious) would go a ways towards that.

That’s it for now. I need to hydrate and sleep.

Dinosaurs are totally dragons! I’m a big fan of expanding the definition of dragon– for instance, I think Cthulhu is a dragon. Re-read the original descriptions of a scaly thing sleeping in a cave & tell me I’m wrong! Sure, Cthulhu has tentacles, but why can’t a dragon have a squid-face?

You may be right about Cthulhu; I need to go back and look at that. I remember there was this book I took out from the SVA library once upon a time that described the very chimeric nature of the first dragons, like Babylonian Tiamat and the Eastern dragons- I wish I remembered the name of it…

In other words, you have a point. :)
