Dragon-A-Day Online: Day 673: New Digs, Old Issues.

So the server move and new hosting situation seems to have completed without a(ny more) hitch(es), and I won’t have to worry about it for three years or so.

In other news, I spent some time remembering how harrowing it was to ink by hand, and how generally unsatisfied I feel once I’m done. There was a reason that I switched to digital, as rough and unsatisfying as that’s been too…

Nevertheless, I did some color testing, to make sure that my initial idea was even viable. The jury’s still out, but I think it’s on the right track Either heavier black lines in some areas or shadows (probably both) will help define him a bit more:

Apparently I was in the mood for eating knights tonight, because when I sat down to work on the sketch for tonight, that’s all I could think of- the only question was how. I settled on this semi-hasty sketch. I feel that I could have worked the figures up a bit more; there should probably have been more ragdoll physics-type stuff going on, in my head, the dragon had snatched them up and was shaking its head as it crushed them in its jaws. But I have a long day of picking at this piece ahead of me tomorrow, and I think I was more than a little preoccupied:
